Something I should have told you earlier, there's another FREE stuff you wouldn't wanna miss... There's another option other than creating website. That wondrous thing is called Blog...
(I wouldn't tell you this earlier because you might just skip all the basic stuff up there... :)

Initially blog used as personal diary (which you can publish on the net), let people know about you... Today, it seems to be evolved into multi functional "site", from politics, economy, and even became a personal income tools.

Blogger is a good option and as an alternative to create your own website. In fact it is perfect for a beginner (some experts also didn't wanna miss to tap some money out of this FREE stuff), however there are limitations to it; for an instance, you cannot adjust the layout of your page - so the layout is almost the same with other's blog (I hope they add more options on layout format soon) - at least you still can adjust the layout design and pattern. Another BIG thing is that you cannot adjust the address URL of your page (i.e.; "www.myblog.blogger.com" and not "www.myblog.com")...

Well, for me it's "not quite" seems suitable for an commercial website if you get that kind of limitations - WHY would people want to buy anything you recommend while you're refusing to spent a dime to promote it???

Anyway if you insist in getting your own Blog, I'll show you the way... To apply for it, you just need register for Gmail account (Google e-mail account), then continue with registering Blogger , it's totally FREE of charge. Only follow their three steps, change your page layout by selecting template they provided and you get your own website... err, i mean your blog.

Now that I have my own Blog, what the heck am I going to do with it???

Well, you can configure your account setting and profile for starter.
Put the best article you have ever wrote, decorates it with pictures and stuffs.
Then tell all your friends and promote your blog...

For me, the best things about Blogger is that;

It's FREE - I've already mentioned it didn't I???
You don't need to have any knowledge in website building .
(but you still need it if you're serious about making money online)
You'll get almost all the function of website including ability to put ads (Google Adsense*), promote affiliate product, etc. (just be sure to read their terms & conditions carefully)
You also have the ability to apply Google Adwords* to promote your Blog, but I guess you still don't want to spent a single cents on this huh??..

If you're already understand clearly about internet marketing, have a darn good content, great marketing plans and lots - i mean so many lots of luck, sure you can earn some good money (there are many people have this 'luck' in earlier stage of Blogging existence)

After that you can apply the next step of Generate Income From Your Website... err, I mean Your Blog.

But if you're serious in Internet Business and start your own internet business / marketing, and making profit out of your website, do consider to get your domain name and web hosting.
