1. First thing first, try to build a simple website, just about anything that come across your mind. Don’t worry; the content can be change later. You can use software such as M/S FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver and loads of other FREE software to create your own website...

I recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver, but if you don't have one, Trellian WebPage is quite OK which you can download from links at the bottom of the next page for FREE, and they even have the video tutorial to setup a webpage (& mini Website).

Try to get the hang of one of the software, use help to experiments with things. Give some time for yourself to learn about building a website...

You will learn more about creating web sites in the next section (i suggest you finish this section first, just to get a overall view...)

2. Register an account from www.paypal.com to receive/transfer future payment. They will ask you to VERIFY your credit card by using verify code sent in your credit card bill. They will charge you $1.96 (just for credit card validation...), and the amount will be credited into your paypal account later.

3. Now, try to Google for domain name registration (at the top left of this page)- think carefully about your domain name (i.e.: “www.bizfornewbie.com”), not too long, let it be catchy and easy to remember. Check the availability of your future domain name... it's only about $6.99/year if you can find cheaper that's better, but look for package with many FREE stuff in it, such as cPanel, file management, visitor reports, Google Adwords coupon etc...

Note:

1. Usually, if you register a web hosting service (such as IPOWER), you'll get a FREE domain name.
2. For a beginner I do suggest you registered a domain with the same web hosting you're registered with; this might save a few hours figuring out to solve domain-pointing problem

(www.namecheap.com was selling cheap domain name, but I've noticed their increased their price lately... sorry namecheap.com... :)

Leave the function alone for now, I'll show that later. Just to satisfy your curiosity, you can type your domain name URL i.e.: "http://www.bizfornewbie.com", usually there'll be a parking site reserved for you (if you've registered your domain name).

This is ‘psychologically’ important, by having an address on the net that you paid for, there's some sort of commitment to start this business. I used IPOWER for my first domain, mostly because it is cheap and having quite good function for you to start with …

4. You have a website, payment mode, and domain name, now you need a Web Hosting Service. For the sake of knowledge and as an experiment, so that you're not afraid to get around with things... You can register to any FREE web hosting service, try to Google for it... or you can try www.987mb.com.

After you've completed with the registration (which is FREE) - Take note of the ftp address provided by the web hosting service something looks like this:

Note: With this FREE web hosting don't be afraid try all the function available in their service. If you come across a problem, try to solve with their HELP?. If problem persist, just leave them or unregister it, then try another FREE web hosting... after all that's the point of FREE trial isn't it... :)

5. Now you need to find FREE ftp uploader software (such as Filezilla). Download FileZilla at the bottom of this page... I recommend this software for it's easy to use interface and it’s FREE. You can try other software though…

This software will be used to upload your website (i.e.: index.html) to the web host's server - the previously registered FREE web hosting...

6. Use the earlier FTP Connection Information parameter - from FREE web hosting you've registered earlier (in Step 5). Place the parameter in your FileZilla and upload your previously created website (always use HELP provided by Domain name/ Web host service provider… they’re usually help a lot).

After upload completed, Voila!!! You have a FREE website published in internet. Notice that the URL (address of your website... something like this "http://yazlan.freehost.com" - and you cannot point to your paid-for domain)

It's not the same as your registered (paid-for) domain name you've created earlier?! They do keep their credit for giving you FREE space on the net (around 10Mb)… That's why FREE web hosting not recommended for your internet marketing website.

7. Now that you know the importance of PAID web hosting… Try to Google for paid web hosting service; the price usually $6.99~$12.99/mth (or much more…) depends on space, package, service & freebies. Look for the cost and FREE service they provides.

I recommend you to Host your Web site with IPOWER! for their customer support, relatively cheap, high storage capacity (1500GB) and the Freebies they have to offer… Plus you get to have about $80 worth of Advertising package in Google & Yahoo advertising program …

Try to get most valued package, check their up-time if possible

The registering-upload process are almost the same with the FREE web hosting service, in addition, you’ll get another domain name for FREE, or you can integrate the previously created domain name (use the cPanel in the domain name setting you have registered – use HELP?, really… it helps)

8. Now you have it all, the next thing is the beginner-intermediate transition of YOU, and becoming one out of millions webmaster in the world... but not yet my friend... not yet...

So, How much does it all cost?
PayPal = $1.99 - $1.99 (rebate) = $0 /yr
Domain Name = $6.99 /yr
Web Hosting= $7.99 /mth = $95.88 /yr

Total = $102.87

I'd say give it a try... I think that's a small sum of money to take shot in a business opportunity, in 'real life' you can't even open a lemonade stall with that kind of money... Don't believe me? Try play Lemonade Tycoon Game... :)
